Golfing at Poipu Bay Golf Course
Honeymoon, Day 4-Poipu
My husband and I enjoy playing golf together and on day 4 my husband booked tee time at Poipu Bay Golf Course. We’re paired with a very nice couple from Honolulu. They’re also 49er fans, and they often go to LA or San Francisco to watch live games. Our round lasted about 4 hours.

If you’re a golf lover and would like to spend a few hours on a beautiful course I recommend playing Poipu Bay. It’s designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., and Poipu Bay one of the best golf courses in the Pacific. From 1996 to 2006 one of the most prestigious tournaments, PGA Grand Slam of Golf has been hosted by Poipu Bay Golf Course. What makes this course so extraordinary is the 210 oceanfront acres, with over 30 acres of tropical plants and flowers. The course has 85 bunkers and five water hazards. What can make the game of golf so challenging on this course is the wind due to the ocean being so close.

Each golf cart has a GPS which tells you the distance from each hole. It provides the course rules and pro tips, as well as it allows you to monitor your pace of play. The staff is friendly and helpful. You’ll get waters in the cooler and chilled towels after your round.

That night we had a reservation at Beach House Restaurant, which is known for its breathtaking view. The restaurant has won many awards for best Kauai restaurant. The food was great, and the sunset was amazing! If you have an opportunity to go, you’ll check it out for yourself. No picture or video can justify the beauty this place offers.

When we got done eating, we weren’t ready to go home yet, so we decided to go to the Grant Hyatt for some cocktails. The Hyatt is one of the most popular and beautiful hotels in Poipu. There’s live music when we got there. There’re a lot of older people dancing and having fun. It made me realize that when we’re younger, we worry more about what people think. But the older we get, the less we care about other people’s opinion. These older women and men didn’t care and were getting wild on the dance floor.
After the cocktail bar closed, we check out the Stevenson’s Library at the Hyatt. We hung out for a little bit, but decided to head back because we had a very long day and wanted to get some sleep.
